Great enthusiasm among “fans of the sky” at SKYWONDER !

For the first time ever, 3 000 “fans of the sky” homed in on Kortrijk Xpo last weekend to find out what our 2-day SKYWONDER event had to offer. It is the one and only event in the Benelux and Northern France hosting an attractive and representative range of products and services connected with light aviation. There were several ultra-light motorised aircraft (ULMs) to be seen, plus paragliders and hot air balloons as well as helicopters, gyrocopters and radio-guided machines and drones. A number of schools and clubs also took part to present the different types of training courses they offer. In addition to all these exhibits, there were also a plenty of exciting experiences to enjoy, both for active pilots and enthusiastic aviation fans. Like the many flight simulators, which were in almost constant use, as one visitor after another took the joystick for a short ‘flight’, assisted by a co-pilot. Piloting a drone yourself was also very popular among the visitors. Virtually all the presentations in the Skytalk dome drew a full house, reflecting the keen interest in the many stories and experiences of the speakers, all passionate amateur pilots! And finally, a select number of lucky visitors won a free trial flight, which was valid immediately at the Wevelgem airfield.

“Fans of the sky” are clearly an enthusiastic community who really enjoyed meeting each other in the context of this new event, just before the new flying season opens. As they left, almost everyone said “See you next year!” which has convinced us that a repeat of our first SKYWONDER event would be very welcome. The organizers will get to work to evaluate the event together with the exhibitors and visitors so that we can announce the next SKYWONDER event as soon as possible!

So make sure you keep an eye on the website - not just to see the fun after-movie we will be posting there but also to look out for the date of the next event!
